William WILLAVIZE, aged 82 years, a well-known
retired farmer, of Rutland township, died Tuesday at the family home after
a short illness of heart trouble. Sixteen years ago Mr. Willavize
retired from active farming and moved into Ottawa, 31 W. Madison St., where
he has since resided. He was born in (Wiltshire) England, 3 Dec. 1873 and
came to the US to make his home when but 21 years of age. A short time
later he settled in Rutland township. He was know to practically all the
old residents of the county. His marriage to Mary MESSERSMITH took
place in Rutland in 1863. Surviving he leaves his wife and 5 children:
Mrs. F. C. ZURKEE, of Marshall, MI; Mrs. D.L. HUNT, of Orange,
CA; H. G. WILLAVIZE and William WILLAVIZE of Streator.
