Private Funeral to be conducted Saturday morning
John Tregay, 86, for more than 65 years a resident of La Salle, died at 6:30
p.m. at his home 536 Eleventh street, La Salle. He had been ill only two days,
suffering from pneumonia. Born in Mineral Point, Wis. November 10, 1849, Mr.
Tregay moved to La Salle when a young man. On January 19, 1877 he was married to
Sarah Heath of La Salle. He was employed by the La Salle Carbon Coal Company,
until his retirement twelve years ago.
Surviving are his wife and four children, Blanche and Clifford at home, Lloyd
and Elmer of Oak Park.
Private funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the King and
Schleicher Funeral home with the Rev. Lester Sprenger, pastor of the La Salle
Methodist Church in charge. Burial will be made at Oakwood cemetery. Friends may
call at the funeral home Friday and Saturday up to the time of the service.
