Clara M. Stricklin

Mrs. Stricklin ill 4 months, passes away. 

Mrs. Clara Matilda (Day) Stricklin, 67 years old, wife of George Edwin, (should be George Edward) Stricklin, of south Ottawa, died at 9 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter Daisy Brucks (should be Bruck) R.F.D.1. Ottawa,  Death ended her illness of about four months, the last two weeks of which the condition of the deceased was such that death was  almost hourly expected .  Mrs. Stricklin was born September 18 1856, (death certificate states  September 18, 1857, as does Ottawa Cemetery Tombstone), born in Pittsburgh, Pa. where she spent her girlhood days.  

Besides her husband she is survived by the following children:  Walter  C. M. (Charles Marshall) Stricklin of Joliet, Mrs. Daisy (George) Brucks, and Mrs. Clara (Clayton) Scidmore of Ottawa.  Mrs. Ora (William) Angel, and Mrs. Maragret (Everett) Bagley of Harding, and Edward M. Stricklin of Ottawa.  Two sons preceded her in death Howard, and George.  Two brothers, Walter DAY of Alton, Illinois. and Edward J. DAY of California also survive as do eighteen grandchildren and  two great grandchildren.  The funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home of the daughter, Mrs. George Brucks, (Bruck) west of Ottawa, Rev. Henry B. Jensen, pastor of the Illinois Avenue Evangelical Church will conduct the services.  Interment will be Ottawa Ave. Cemetery.  (Date of death 12/18/1924)
