SHIREY, MOORE

Mrs. Fred Shirey, 33, passed away at the sanitarium at Dixon, Ill. on Friday, August 18th, 1933 after an illness which extended over a period of more than a year. She leaves her husband and four small children. The funeral services were held Monday at Dixon.
Mrs. Shirey's maiden name was Lotha Moore and she was born at Louisville, Ill. April 5th, 1900. There she grew to young womanhood and came north in 1925 where she met Mr. Fred Shirey and they were married Aug. 7th, 1925. There were four children born to this union: Fred Jr., Dale, Mary, and Henry. These with the bereaved husband survive to mourn the loss of this good wife and mother. Mrs. Shirey's health began to fail a year or more ago and she was a patient in the tent colony at Ottawa and later entered the sanitarium at Dixon. For a time she improved and hopes were given that she was to regain her former good health when another setback occurred and the fight had to be renewed.
She wanted to live and return to her home where she could care for her little children, but fate was against her and the Angel of Death touched the frail body and claimed this good wife and mother. The funeral services were held on Monday at Dixon and interment was in the cemetery in that city.
