DEATH OF MRS. ANNA (COOK) SHIREY
Mrs. Anna Shirey died at her home near Meriden, Saturday, July 11th at the age of 57 years.
She was united in Marriage in 1872 to Mr. Wm. H. Shirey at Utica, Ill.
To this happy union were born eleven children, two of whom being deceased. Those livig are William, Daniel, Fred, and Mrs. Edna Applebee of Grand Ridge, Ill.; Mrs. Grace Burges of Athens, Ill.; Mrs. Jessie Irving of Meriden; Mrs. Jacob Nisely (Esther) of Oregon, Ill.; Mrs. Pearl Lincoln of Earlville; Mrs. Louis Wolf of Milwaukee, Wis, who with the bereaved husband remain to mourn her loss.
She had been in poor health for several years and for the last few months suffered intensely. She was a devoted member of the Baptist church at Utica, Ill.
The funeral services were held from the late home on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. T.W. Nazarene, of Earlville, officiating. The music was rendered by members of the M.E. choir.
Interment was made in the Precinct cemetery near Earlville.
