Mrs. Caroline C. Reynolds, the oldest person in
Deer Park Township, in point of residence, died at her home December 9th,
aged 85 years, 11 months, and 9 days.
Mrs. Reynolds was born in West Virginia, January 1st,
1833, and came west with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Clayton in
1834. She was united in marriage February 24th, 1858, to James
C. Reynolds, and during the period of 60 years from that date has resided
on the same farm.
Mrs. Reynolds leaves two children, Samuel of Deer
Park and George M. of Utica, also two grandchildren, Mrs. Louise
Sims of Ottawa and Miss Helen Reynolds of Utica, and two great-grandchildren,
Eugene and George Sims. She has one sister living,
Mrs. Ellen Lodge of Monticello, Illinois.
Funeral services were held from her late home in Deer
Park Wednesday afternoon with interment at Oak Hill cemetery.
