SAM. A. KESSLER DIES IN CHICAGO
Former La Salleian Passes Away Saturday
PNEUMONIA IS FATAL
Dies After Illness of Only Two Days – Burial Here Tomorrow Afternoon

Samuel A. Kessler, a former resident of La Salle, died Saturday at noon at the Englewood hospital following a brief illness with pneumonia. Mr. Kessler had been ill only two days and passed away twenty-six hours after being removed to the hospital.

Mr. Kessler was born in Harrisburg, Pa., Nov., 22, 1842 and came here when quite young. On October 18, 1877 he was married to Carrie J. Garfield in La Salle.

Four children are left to mourn his death. They are Ina M., of Lapeer, Mich., Daisy and Mabel of Los Angeles, Cal., and Harry of Chicago. Mrs. Kessler died in El Paso, Ill., in 1891, but her remains are interred in La Salle.

Mr. Kessler was well known in La Salle, especially among the older people. He left this city for Chicago seven years ago.

Arrangements have been made for the funeral in La Salle. The remains will arrive here tomorrow morning at eleven o’clock and the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 from the Erlenborn undertaking establishment to Oakwood cemetery. Rev. F. C. Kliehauer, pastor of the Methodist church, will conduct services.
