Alex Holcomb, 48, of Clinton, Ia, a native of Marseilles and son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holcomb of Rapid City, Ill., resident of Marseilles until two years ago, died yesterday morning at his home of heart trouble.
The body will arrive in Marseilles early tomorrow morning and will remain at Seals funeral home, where funeral services will be conducted Saturday. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Complete funeral arrangements will be made when the family arrives in Marseilles tomorrow.
The deceased was born in August, 1892, at the Holcomb family homestead,
484 Rose Street, which is now occupied by Bert Ashley. He
had not resided in Marseilles since he enlisted in the World War.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. James Cole
and Mrs. James Welsh, both of Moline, an aunt, Mrs. John Bowers,
of Ottawa, and two cousins, Mrs. Michael Kelly of north Ottawa,
and Mrs. W. B. Chamberlain of 417 W. Main Street, Ottawa.
