Jan. 21, 1875 Mr. George Alexander residing a short distance south west of Streator and well known coal dealer died on Friday last. He was a very energetic business man and much respected.

On Thursday, Jan 21st, 1875 of consumption. Mr. Alexander, in the 45th year of his age. The funeral took place on the following Sunday. He was buried in the Philips Graveyard.

Age of death: 44 years, 6 months. Lived in England moved to Pennsylvania, then to Popes Creek, near Phillips Cemetery. Lived in log cabin and engaged in farming on Bloomington Rd. Energetic business man and much respected. Coal Dealer. Died of consumption, Thursday Jan. 21 1875.
