I am trying to find out what I can about my G.G.G. Grandparents Patrick
Duffy and Ellen Martin, I know that they were both born in Galway County,
Ireland and Patrick came to New York, New York as a stole away on board a
ship he was so young that the captain of the ship contacted his family they
said to keep him because he was not getting along with his step-mother. He
got a job as a mason and worked on the Illinois-Michigan Canal and was
living in or around Ottawa, LaSalle County by 1842 as his daughter Ellen
Duffy Rabbitt was born there. He had 8 children Mary, Julia, Thomas,
Micheal, James, John, Ellen and William, I don't know what become of the
other children. My Great Great Grandmother Ellen married Thomas Rabbitt in
Ottawa, LaSalle County, in 1850 and according to a cousin Patrick had a farm
on the Illinois River, it was in the family for several years. I would like
to have any information on the Duffy's in this area as I believe that they
could be part of my family, thank you Taleah Wilkinson

LaSalle Co, Illinois census. Rebecca Morris Price was born 22 May 1826 in
Fayette co, Penn. the dau. of Hervey A. Morris and Elizabeth Kiplinger. The

Rachel died in Kansas. There was also a daughter, Libbie Price, who seems to
be the Elizabeth Price who married Daniel W. Swartz, 8 March 1877 in LaSalle
co. They would lived in Kansas. Would like to know if this family remained
in LaSalle Co. Looking for death data also.

I am seeking information on Bernice Bufford, who married Walter Loyal
Richardson. When I checked the Social Security Death Index, it appears that
Bernice was born March 10, 1880 and died in December, 1977, 97 years old and
had been living at Bureau County. When I checked the 1880 federal soundex
index, I found that Bernice was living in Crotty (present day Seneca) at
that time with her parents, Harvey Bufford, born in IN and Sarah ?, his
wife, born in PA, as were her parents. On this site, I found an Elizabeth
Buford that had died at the age of 18, from the town of Brookfied. This made
me wonder if there were other Buffords there. In the 1860 census, Brookfield
Twp., I found: Mary Buford 54 born in NY Harvey " 21 born in IN Emily " 14
born in IN James " 11, born in IN I was excited by this and checked the 1850
census for IN, and didn't find a Bufford family with this wife/children. I
then checked the original census for 1880, rather than the federal soundex
index, and saw that Bernice was actually an adopted daughter, whose parents
were both born in Michigan. Any information regarding Bernice's ancestry
would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Paul Horvat

LaSalle County or now. The were married June 17, 1863 in Freedom Township,
LaSalle County. The minister was a Reverand Crawford. I know this because it
tells of it in Henry's Civil War file, but doesn't get specific enough to
tell me anything really. I do know that in 1870, in Kendall County, Amelia's
