I am looking for information on John SABOLIK, who came to LaSalle County, (Streator), before 1889 from Austria (Slovak). He was married to Susan BAKALAR. Only my grandmother, the youngest of seven or so children, was born in the U.S. (in Streator, August, 1889). Other children were John, Andrew, Mike, George, Susan (married John GAZDA), Anna (married George HYDUK), and Mary (married John MITAL in 1908).At least on of the sons moved to Minnesota. The family seems to have lost contact with them. John SABOLIK died in a railroad accident, on February 11, 1901. He was a naturalized citizen as of November, 1896, LaSalle County. He is buried in Riverview Cemetery, as is his wife Susan (BAKALAR) SABOLIK. She died, also in Streator, February 26, 1906. I am particularly interested in the "railroad accident".But any information on the family would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I found an article on the Juniata, Pennsylvania genweb page that state a large number of people from Juniata moved to Earlville, Illinois sometime prior to 1885. I am researching the Bowers of Juniata county, who were mentioned in this article as one of the families that had moved. Does any one have any information on the BOWERS? I am particularly interested in any obituaries that might mention my great great great grandmother, Lydia Bowers Webster who resided in Juniata County and Altoona.

They immigrated to the U.S. in 1869 with their three children: John, James and Patrick. The family lived in Bloomington and then Streator, Illinois.
